The aim of the scheme is to promote a greater understanding of equine welfare issues amongst the vets of tomorrow.
The aim of the scheme is to promote a greater understanding of equine welfare issues amongst the vets of tomorrow.
Applications for next year’s Bursary Scheme are now open.
The scheme is designed to support and encourage veterinary students to undertake an equine option during their degree studies, or as part of any university-approved additional studies they embark on. It aims to develop greater understanding of both equine welfare and World Horse Welfare’s role.
The World Horse Welfare Undergraduate Bursary Scheme is available to veterinary students in their later years undertaking a degree course at a veterinary school in the UK or Ireland.
The bursary programme may be undertaken in the UK or abroad. The charity will consider applications to work at one of its four UK Rescue and Rehoming Centres (Norfolk, Somerset, Lancashire or Aberdeenshire) or as part of one of its overseas projects. However, bursaries are not restricted to World Horse Welfare programmes if appropriate justification can be provided. The titles of some recent successful projects can be found here.
