Campaign with us

Campaign for us

How you can protect horses in the EU.

How you can protect horses in the EU.

You can help horses today by becoming a World Horse Welfare campaigner and getting involved in our campaigning work.

Our campaigners make a real difference by helping to raise awareness and influence policymakers to make appropriate changes that will benefit equine welfare.

Things you can do:

  • Write to your MEP and ask them to engage with the campaign using this European Parliament database of all elected Members. https://www.europarl.europa.eu/meps/en/home. Contact your national Ministry (normally the Ministry of Agriculture for animal welfare-related issues) and ask them to support proposed national or EU laws that will better protect horses.
  • Get involved on social media: many politicians have accounts on sites like Facebook (Meta), Instagram, X, TikTok and LinkedIn – why not contact them about the campaign?
  • Get in touch with your local media: whether it’s a newspaper, magazine, radio or TV station, ask them to cover the campaign to bring it to the attention of others.
  • Sharing information with us – as a campaigning charity, we rely on having accurate and up-to-date information about every aspect of our campaigns. If you have any information about horses in your country – particularly to do with welfare during transport, working equids, the slaughter trade, horse smuggling and deliberate abuse of the equine identification process – then we would love to hear from you. https://www.worldhorsewelfare.org/tell-us
  • Raise awareness in Europe and globally – we have several campaigners helping us spread the word internationally and are always keen to engage with more. We’d particularly love to hear from you if you can speak another language and would be willing to help with translation.
  • Share with friends and family – the more the word is spread, the better!
