When little donkey Mia arrived at our rescue and rehoming centre, she had obviously been through so much already. She was suffering with a high intestinal worm burden and was dangerously underweight – which was even more distressing because she was also heavily pregnant.

Whenever a horse or donkey arrives like this, it is heartbreaking to see. After all they’ve been through, the least we can do is offer them a warm welcome: a safe, comfortable place to rest, fresh food and water, and lots of compassion, love and care.

Thanks to our supporters enabling us to be there for her, Mia is recovering well and has given birth to a beautiful, healthy foal we called Peanut.

From the moment a horse or donkey like Mia arrives, we make them a promise: that from now on, they will never again face abuse or neglect. Will you give whatever you can to help us keep that promise?

Thank you.
