- New resource hub for all horse owners and care-givers
- The latest and most up-to-date advice, supported by industry experts
We have just launched a new and comprehensive advice section on our website. This one-stop-shop on horse health and management offers guidance for horse owners and care givers on how to understand behaviours and provide the best care for their horses, donkeys and mules.
“We hope our new and updated advice pages make it easier for horse owners to find information on key horse health, well-being, management and nutrition related topics to support their horse care.
“We are fortunate that we are able to bring up-to-date, evidence-based advice and guidance into the public forum, with the support of a range of industry experts and professionals.”
Rebecca Boulert, World Horse Welfare Research and Education Officer
A whole range of horse health and management topics are covered including Well-being Essentials, covering basic welfare fundamentals such as the 3Fs (friends, forage and freedom), and the 5 domains of animal welfare – which aims to identify key areas that influence an animal’s ability to survive and thrive in their environment.
Other features include an A-Z library for easy navigation around the advice pages, a feedback form to suggest additional content, and a range of downloadable content such as Horse Behaviours Checklist and Fast Facts that cover a range of health and welfare issues.
As we strive to support and improve the horse-human partnership in all its guises, this new resource also offers Top 10 lists for horse health, management and nutrition, and visitors will also have the opportunity to test their knowledge with a new interactive quiz.
