A young mare born at our Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Norfolk has finally found her dream home. Midnight spent three years looking for a family of her own but kept getting overlooked. Now, she’s started her new chapter at long last.

Midnight had only ever known life at Hall Farm, having been born into the safety of our charity after her mum was rescued, so a new home was a big step for her. With her wonderful nature, Midnight has taken it all in her stride, as her rehomer Judith explains:

“I was looking for a friend for my mare Paloma, who’s 16.3hh so needed a larger companion. When I went on the website, Midnight fitted the bill perfectly at 15.3hh – and as two skewbalds together, they match rather well too! I’m so impressed by how Midnight has adapted to her new home – she’s settled in so well. She got the hang of her new routine very quickly and will wait at the gate as soon as she sees me.”

With Paloma having sadly been left on her own after losing her previous friend unexpectedly, time was of the essence. Judith says:

“I think it was nine days from when I applied for Midnight to when she came home. The team really pulled out all the stops, which was so helpful and I’m very grateful for that. It was so nice to see Paloma happy with her new friend when the two of them first went in together. Midnight is such a sweetie – she loves a groom and a fuss.”

Shortly before she found her perfect home, Midnight met equestrian content creator and World Horse Welfare Patron This Esme and featured on her YouTube channel. Esme says:

“I’m so happy to hear that Midnight has found a home – she’s such a lovely mare. As a rehomer myself, I know just how rewarding it is to give a rescue horse or pony a second chance. I’d recommend it to anyone – knowing that you’re not just helping that horse, but another one in need who can then be rescued is an amazing feeling.”

Whilst Midnight has found a home of her own at long last, we have lots more horses and ponies waiting to find their perfect match. You can check out our horses and ponies ready to find homes now on our rehoming pages.

If you have a horse or pony left on their own after losing their friend and not coping, please call us on 01953 497238 and we’ll do our best to help find them a suitable companion as soon as possible.
