Is a client struggling to care for their horse?

If you’re concerned about a client who’s struggling to care for their horse, help and advice is available.

If you’re concerned about a client who’s struggling to care for their horse, help and advice is available.

Whether you are providing care for the horse or for the client themselves, if you come across someone struggling to look after their horse – or you suspect they will soon, perhaps due to ill health or their personal circumstances – World Horse Welfare and/or other organisations may be able to help. We can offer horse-related help and advice, and organisations able to provide support on the human side of the situation can be found via our Resources Hub.

If your main concern is the standard of care the horses are receiving, you can request a support call via our form. Our team will be happy to discuss the horses’ situation and advise as to whether there may be a problem or not. Please note this service is only available in Britain.

On the other hand, if your concern is that the client themself is struggling, you might like to check out some of the organisations listed in our Resources Hub. Please note that we are not affiliated to all of these groups, but they should be able to offer more specialised advice in this area than we can.

If you are under 18

We do need to hear from someone 18 years of age or over in case we need to make contact to clarify any details. If you are under 18 but have concerns, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us on your behalf.

Request a horse-related support call

If you are at least 18 years of age, the situation is in Britain, and it isn’t an emergency, we have a dedicated team who can help advise you on the next steps to take.
