Meet Bjorn

Bjorn is an eye catching pony and very handsome. He arrived at Hall Farm having had very little handling so he has been on a steep learning curve. Combined with his young age, Bjorn will require regular handling from a person experienced with youngsters to continue his education. Bjorn has learnt the basics and he is now good to catch, lead and stand for the farrier. He will also enjoy a bit of fuss and attention if he is tied up in our American Barn providing he has a friend to keep him company. Bjorn is still wary of anything new but usually accepts it if it is introduced slowly and he is given time to process what is happening. Bjorn is very sensitive around his poll and ears, so this area must be treated gently to avoid touching his ears. If he is to be backed to ride in the future he will require a lot of time and patience with plenty of head/ear work as Bjorn is unlikely to accept a bridle going over his ears. Although this may improve in time, it could to be a long term problem for him. Bjorn also "tolts" so this is something else to be aware of if he is ridden. If introduced to ridden work Bjorn will need a rehomer with previous experience of producing ponies to ride. His adult height could be approximately 14.0hh (but this is only an estimate) that will give him a maximum rider weight limit of 8.5 to 9 stones. Bjorn will not be suitable for a child rider. We are equally happy for Bjorn to remain a non-ridden companion where he can kick up his heels and live his best life with his friends.
