Meet Ben

Ben is a sweet old boy and a very handsome little cob. As Ben is older, he does like things a certain way and adores his friends so can become attached to his field mates. He is happy to come in for a groom but will have days when he is a bit of a fidget if his friends are coming and going from the barn. He would love a home where he is pampered and always has friends in the field for company. Ben is an older pony so won’t let other ponies push him around but gets along well with his field mates. He will require a gelding only home and cannot live over the fence from mares. Ben would happily live with bigger horses on a decent amount of grazing; due to his age he does not need to be restricted like most smaller ponies. He enjoys being fussed over and has needed a cosy rug and a feed over the winter to maintain his condition which he has certainly enjoyed. He always puts a smile on his groom's face at breakfast time as he likes to show off his party trick of a wee paw for his bucket. Ben would make a lovely addition to a gelding only herd and deserves someone to spoil him rotten in his golden years. If Ben sounds right for your horses, please apply online.

Important stuff

Ben can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Ben is not suitable to be worked.

History

Ben came into WHW in 2025 after his owner asked for our help.
