Meet Twix
Twix arrived at Hall Farm completely unhandled and very wary of any form of human contact. In just a few months she has become one of the sweetest ponies on the farm and her groom absolutely adores her! She is treat driven and even the most scary of scenarios can be overcome with the thought of a treat at the end. Twix is a quick learner and her general handling has come on leaps and bounds. She will benefit from regular handling and despite still being cautious in new situations, she is prepared to try providing she is not rushed. Twix will not be suitable to ride but her cute ways and lovely temperament will make her a welcome addition to any yard.
Important stuff
This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.
Twix can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Twix is not suitable to be worked.
History
Twix came into our care as a welfare concern
