Meet Montana
Montana's pregnant mother was one of 26 equines cruelly crammed into a lorry to be illegally exported out of the UK, probably destined for a slaughter house in Europe. As she was born at Hall Farm she really is a blank canvas who has only known kindness and respect in her short life. She is proving to be a very sweet natured little girl. As Montana is still so young, we are looking for a home with experience in handling young horses where she can continue her education. Montana certainly enjoys the company of other youngsters and mixes well with all in her herd. Montana might have the potential to be brought into work when she is older although this will depend very much on how she develops as she grows. Montana is unlikely to be more than 11.3hh when fully grown as her mother is 11.1hh. If ridden Montana would have a maximum rider weight limit of 4 stone. We are equally happy for Montana to remain permanently as a non-ridden companion where she can just enjoy kicking up her heels with like minded friends.
Important stuff
This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.
Montana could be worked in the future.
