Meet Jake

Jake is ready to find a home as a non ridden companion. He is a lovely boy, who loves lots of fuss and attention. His ideal home would be a quieter set up with one other horse who he can buddy up with, as he tends to form a close bond with one other. He is currently living in a large herd of geldings, but stays with his one friend within the herd. He is very good to catch, handle, groom, bath and for the vet and farrier. Jake will stable but does tend to become a little anxious if the yard becomes really busy with activity, which is why we feel a quieter home where he could live out his days would be best for him. He is a good doer, so does require his weight watching through the spring/summer months. He is best suited to a home with strong electric fencing or well maintained post and rail with electric running round it, or stone walls. If you can offer Jake a home, please apply online.

Important stuff

Jake can never be ridden or driven.

All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Jake is not suitable to be worked.

History

Jake originally came into our care in 2006 after his owner contacted us for help. He has previously been rehomed and was returned from loan following a change in circumstances. He had been in that home for 11 years where he was greatly loved.
