Meet Phoebe
Phoebe is a sensitive mare who came into our care last year, following the sad death of her owner. She will require a sympathetic and experienced handler to give her confidence. She is generally good to handle but can get strong when she is feeling stressed or upset. Phoebe is happier living out in a field as this is what she has always been used to. We do, however, feel that she may be able to be stabled in time if this is introduced to her gradually and with a companion close by. Phoebe is a genuine mare with a lot to give, she needs a home with somebody who is prepared to spend time bonding with her and giving her the chance she so deserves. In return we believe she will become a loving, addition to any home.
Important stuff
This horse is based at Hall Farm, where we’ve been managing a strangles outbreak in some of our horses. They have been screened using guttural pouch lavage (the gold standard test), completed a full course of strangles vaccinations, and spent time in quarantine in a green zone paddock. They are now available for rehoming as part of our phased return to normal activities.
Phoebe can never be ridden or driven.
All equines in our centres are regularly assessed by a team of experts including a vet, physiotherapist and farrier, and these assessments have found that Phoebe is not suitable to be worked.
History
Phoebe came into our care after her owner sadly died.
